I may have to pass. Even 5-PM puts me on the road at 6:30 which puts me home at 7:15. I'd like to be in bed by 8 given I need to be up at 4. I believe you can pick up the race packet on Friday so I'll still be in the area and would love to meet up with people if we can pick a time.

I'm in the 2nd to last wave. As if it wasn't going to take me long enought to finish, now I"m going to bake in the heat. great.

I'll be at race site by 3 or so for packet pick up, etc. Back to hotel by 4. Can easily do dinner at 5:30 or so. Whatever time works is OK with me.

Driving down from Maine Friday afternoon...I'm not too sure when we're going to get there. I'm hoping before packet pickup closes on Friday.

Last big push for training this weekend - Saturday, I've got a race simulation (1:15 swim, 2:15 bike, 1:00 run) and a 50 mile bike ride on Sunday...at this point, I'm SO looking forward to the taper. I'm completely wiped out. I don't know how the full distance folks do it.

For those of you that have done the race in the past - some details about weather/water temp/water condition (murky? typically windy? current?) would be very appreciated so I can start to obsess about the things I can't control. Cry

Have a fantastic weekend all!

Why do you let silly logic ruin things? I agree though, the run is WIDE open.

LOL because I confess to having checked the weather several times already and it's varied from 74 and overcast to 80 and raining to 86 and humid.............right now it's 82 and mostly cloudy.

I agree about wanting shade.

I'd make it for more than 10 Rudy....more folks tend to show up.

How is everyone feeling about the race?

I'm somewhere near the intersection of "This will be great!!" "Am I really ready?" and gut wrenching nervousness.  the closer it gets, the more nervous I get.

I'm as ready as I'm going to be and at this point completely happy to take the foot off the gas and let the body heal. At not even the half way point of the year I'm at 70% of last year's bike and run totals and about 57% of the swim total.

I'm good with 5:30.

I've had a rough week because of travel and illness and not feeling ready in the slightest.  But I am looking to have a lot of fun regardless of how fast (or slow) I might be.

I'm feeling pretty good so far, I'm not doing a full tape as my goal is Rev3Full in Sept, so I've got 90 miles (in FLAT Maryland/Delaware this weekend) and a 2hr run.  Then a cruise for a few days til the race!

Need to get my new tires (Conti 4000s) on the bike tonight. A good run tomorrow, easy fun bike on Sun AM, a few easy rbs next MTW and then just making sure I have everything together to head down Friday. Looking forward to it.

I hope to make the dinner and maybe Kevin will come with me.

Patriot is like old home week where I know so many athletes, the RD and many of the volunteers.  It will also be first time back at tri event which may have some mixed emotions for me as I'm fearful I will no longer be able to participate in tris.

I love the bike course. Water has a strange brown/red tinge to it but super clean. Run course is quiet country roads for most part with slightly cambered roads.

Getting closer everyone!

I am usually terribly nervous for (sprint) tris but so far, so good - I'm actually really really excited...the lack of shade on the run with those high temps is a bit scary to me and I wish Gatorade was offered on the run but other than that I'm glad to be ready and tapering. 80 minute run tomorrow (swim planned today but something's up with my eye...) I'll try out flat coke.

Oh - it will be two for me for dinner, my hubbs is coming up the night before with me now that my mother can watch our little one. Psyched! Kathy - it will be great to see you at dinner.
