Subject: 8 miles in 50 minutes
The first day of IM training has this WO in the plan, and on other mondays.  It is the only one I can not do.  It has me WU for 10 minutes and 10 CD.   says to run 5 miles at AeT-about 15-20 bpm below your LT (race pace HR).  that makes this 5 miles in 30 minutes.  I can do all the other WO just fine so Im thinking its got to be a mistake.  If its 5k in 30 thats too slow so I think Ill test it out see if I cant get in 4 miles in.  A 7:30 pace is duable....maybe but not a 6 minute mile for 5 miles.  Ive got a lot on my plate this summer. Coeur d'Alene IM 24 june, ultra STP ( hehe lake stevens the next day). and if I can ill do a Tahoe full and the grand coule damm full to get into the marathon maniacs.  Im not a runner but I think I can.  Ill be looseing some weight too 8)

I'd say warm up and cool down based on time.

Run the 5 miles at 15-20 bpm below your LT. Don't worry if it takes you more than 30 mins.

A lot of plans here have time estimates that occasionaly don't match up with the workout - especially the swims. Generally, when that happens, just do the workout as described, and ignore the time.

x2  That's not a particularly stressful run, so I wouldn't worry about it taking longer unless it adds too much running volume to your week (based on what you can comfortably handle).
