There was another "should I use whey protein" thread that got me thinking about this new thread. Anyone interested in sharing?

I just started this one: 30grams of vanilla whey (Muscle Milk); an orange; couple cups of skim milk; & about 40 grams of glyco-maize. (I've been weight-gaining for the last two months.)

Yeah, real food's better, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.

I typically like to do chocolate powder, whatever the suggested serving is.

3/4 tray ice cubes, ground up

1 cup skim milk

1 banana

3/4 cup of cherry yogourt or 1/2 cup strawberries depending how I'm feeling.

I take a serving of the chocolate muscle milk 100% whey and stir that into a serving of fat free greek yogurt. The powder mixes in perfectly to the yogurt and tastes pretty good too. I just use a spoon to mix (it looks like it won't work at first but stir gently for 2-3 minutes and it will have an almost fluffy consistency). It's simply, quick, tasty, and a whole lot of protein.

My normal protein shake, I also add some peanut butter (natural), and half a banana...

I posted this late Friday so hopefully others will join in. (This is my BUMP statement.)

Yeah, I used to use peanut butter. Great for the taste but I stopped b/c I've been trying to mix-up a 3-1, carb-protein ratio. E.g., I use 50 grams of whey & strive for 150 grams of carbs. (Along w/a balanced diet of real food of course.) If I recall, I think peanut butter has slightly more protein than carbs. Too much space in the blender!

Anyway, I think the 3-1 whey protein shake has been working. I've gone from 140lbs post-marathon to 165lbs in 1.5/2 months. (I'll shoot down to about 155-ish in the midst of S/B/R season.) Wondering if I could continue to see the same gains by neglecting the 3-1 ratio.

I sometimes put my protein powder in my oatmeal.  I've done both vanilla and chocolate.

1/2 c raw oats in a bowl, add 1 tbls of Natural PB, 1 scoop of whey, and enough milk to make it like sludge.  Eat with spoon.  Pretty much my post workout go to.

I have had to stop eating peanut butter all together. I feel it is a gateway drug for me. I eat that and then it is on for sweet stuff. Like a coke addict with weed. Sad really.

I can totally see that.  I'm like that with trail mix.

I have two favorites. First one is 1 cup of milk, 1 scoop vanilla whey powder, some ice, 1 tbsp flaxseed and some peach yogurt.

The second one is: 1 cup of milk, handful of spinach, 1 tbsp flaxseed, ice, 1 scoop whey powder, some mixed berries and a scoop of Greek yogurt.

I use to mix my whey protein with milk but always felt bloated after drinking so now I mix with orange juice and feel full afterwards without the bloating.

oj, frozen strawberries, frozen cut up banana and whey. The less oj you use the thicker the shake is.

Also the best invest we made was buying a single serving blender from GNC!!

I just shake it with water.

It's a espresso fudge type flavor so other than milk anything would be gross and I can't drink milk because of my Crohn's....so I guess I don't really have any other options anyways.

This is protein cookies and great to snack on while training.  They freeze very well.

OK I don't measure anything, just goes by look.

about 2 cups of raw oatmeal

6 scoops of vanilla whey isolate protein

8 egg whites

1 small jar of peanut butter

1/3 box of brown sugar

big squirt of honey

maybe 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

lots of cinnamon if U like cinnamon

vanilla extract

milk, enough to make a cookie dough

spoon out cookie size on cookie sheet

Bake at 350.

These are amazingly good and healthy

Note the same recipe can be made using chocolate protein and adding the pure chocolate cocoa stuff, but when I do this I leave the cinnamon out.
