I'm @SteveinaSpeedo

I like:

@runnersfeedsite for all kinds of running-related info

@wassnertwins because they're adorable twin pro triathletes

@CrowieAlexander = Crowie

@RunningQuotes flakey running quotes... but I like it

And some non-tri related ones:

@robdelaney is super sassy and not for everyone, but he's HILARIOUS

@TheFakeCNN is just funny

@AskDrRuth for the best sex advice

Rinny (@Mirindacarfrae) and Julie Dibens (@juliedibens) had some AWESOME Twitter smack talk leading up to Kona this last year. All in good fun - really hilarious to follow.

I follow a few celebrities and bloggers, but also a lot of LOCAL places as they'll post specials and such on Twitter. It's also one of the fastest sources to find out about breaking news - something will trend on Twitter well before it breaks on local or national news. Love that reporters are getting into the live tweet thing from verdict readings, press conferences, etc.

@lisac957 here but I'm super sporadic

@cdban, but there is nothing coming from me except the occasional sunset picture from SWFl. I do follow a few musicians and a few athletes. It is interesting to me how varied the uses for it are. We are considering it at one of the banks that I work with. I wonder about the business value, but I admit that I find it entertaining to hear from Juan Pelota on occasion.

I'm a politics and NFL junkie, so I follow the best sources for info on those. One thing I love about Twitter is that the big stories ALWAYS break first on Twitter rather than traditional media. I remember watching CNN as I was on Twitter while watching the Breaking News about the killing of Bin Laden. It was like the news anchors were reading the same tweets I was... 5 minutes later than they were tweeted.

My Packers radio show co-host and I would also use Twitter to do live "tweet-ups" with our listeners to make watching every Packers game a fun, interactive experience. It really can expand relationships in that way.

I don't tweet a whole lot, but I'm @RichRatay.

Oh yeah, forgot to put that I tweet for my company as well.
But we don't do a lot on purpose, just newsworthy items either from us, re-tweeted from our customers, big industry news, or employee volunteerism stuff. It's interesting to see how B2B businesses use it, compared to B2Cs... apples and oranges.

Hey Foggy,  I'm @eyeseephoto

I follow several sports writers.  Give @stevilkinevil a follow, he's a very funny bicycling guy.  I also follow   @evilcycling

And of course I follow @mnrunnergirl

Forgot one  follow @chriswarcraft This is Chris Klewe the Vikings punter.  He's smarter than most people (Seriously, he tested off of the IQ charts) and is very funny..

X2 on Chris Klewe - he is worth a follow.   LMAO when he called Falcons fans "a bunch of douche pickles".

I also enjoy Matt Kassian (@kassassination) who plays in the MN Wild orgination.

Do you have one account or two? Met with our web developer on Thursday and we're incorporating a twitter feed to update company news, research meetings, etc. I have one account now but it's @brianrunsphilly and wouldn't look so professional if I send training/racing/corporate updates from the same account.

Personally Twitter is growing on me more and more. I like it better then Facebook now. Mostly because I like the people on Twitter more. Common interests and links to other things.

@Chris_Spanky

I follow cool people like

Steve, Lisa, Elaine...

Some pros in triathlon, running etc. Along with some other Engineers and business people and business and leadership blogs. I tweet silly things because I can talk without having to apply a filter most of the time.

Yea he has some awesome tweets. There was an article on him where his mom thought he would cure cancer or do something great and he chose to be a punter and play warcraft.

I also follow @nikerunning and @brooksrunning for updates on products. Then a bunch of athletes and political people to keep up with the news.

Fred D - 2012-01-22 6:31 AM I just recently signed up for twitter again but use it quite differently. I never tweet as I truly am not very interesting and also don't really want to broadcast to everyone my daily going-ons etc.i do follow some of the bigger triathletes and my favorite football team payers and reporters. I also get my cycling news from teams, cyclists and tdf. So it's useful as a one way portal for me....once I figured out there was a way to not tweet and not follow the folks who were tweeting stuff like 'at the airport getting a latte at Starbucks' etc lol.

I am the same way, I like to use twitter as my own personalized news source.  I follow my favorite athletes, businesses, sportscasters/reporters, teams, etc.  I don't use it to broadcast myself, so it's definitely a one way street for me.

This is how I use twitter mostly too...just wanted to add that if there is a story breaking, there is NO better place to hear the absolute latest...stuff hits twitter 90-120 minutes earlier than even the earliest major outlets...
