Full Wetsuit or Desoto 2 piece???

Love my DeSoto.  In warmer water I just wear the bib john. But what I like most is the fit. Having a totally separate top allows more freer movement than a one piece.

I love my DeSoto 2 piece. I have had 4 wetsuits and 2 DeSotos....comfort level for me is much improved with 2 piece.

You can on occasion find good deals on DeSoto if you look around. Last summer I found a shop that had stopped carrying them and they were in their back room. I think I paid about 55% of new.

Another vote for Desoto.  One thing, if I was to buy again, I would get the speed tube bottoms.  I have Black Pearl bibs and the cheaper top.  I really like them, but I think I would speed tube bottom, mix and match top option.

Black Pearl 2 piece wearer here (bib and long sleeve top).  LOVE em.  I personally wouldn't do the speedtube because I like the extra boyancey in the middle. You loose that with the speedtube.  I honestly don't know what the advantages to the speedtube would actually be other than maybe a little cheaper. You wouldn't be gaining any speed from it and possibly creating more drag if your top and tube dont overlap perfectly when swimming.

Since mid 80’ I owned a lot of 1 piece wetsuits and great wetsuits at that.

I went to a DeSoto T1 2 piece and will never go back.  The fit and the unrestricted movement between the upper and the lower (johns) is amazing. 

You got to try it.  I think DeSoto has a 100% money back if you don’t’ like.  I bought mine from DeSoto direct.

X5 or whatever for the Desoto T1.  But, you really need to base the decision on the fit.  I went from a 1-piece to the Desoto because it fit better but plenty of people are thrilled with their 1-piece.  Its not the number of pieces that matter but how they fit you.  Desoto and a bunch of others have a good return policy so its not hard to try a bunch.

Having said all that, I like the T1 because: able to customize the top and bottom sizes to my body type, it was comfortable, and I'm as quick in T1 as with the 1-piece.

Does Desoto ever do sales on their wetsuits?

They sell some returns or ones with slight imperfections at a discount.

Some Tri stores sell them and with BT account you can get 10-15% off Tri Sports and free shipping.

I've got the T1 Speedtube bottoms and the Smart1 Pullover top.  That Smart1 top was one of the least expensive.  That's what I was wearing at IMKS 70.3.  I emailed DeSoto on size recommendations after taking my own measurements.  Ended up with size 5.
