Event warmup:

A bit of WU running to find a porta-potty in the farmers market. Some SUPER gentle stretching in the Securian building.

Comments:

Ran with JMatt and Tom Morgan for the first 6 miles. Kept it easy early on, and then pulled away around mile marker 7. Into the wind along Shepard for the way out (miles 2-7+), and then with the wind on the way back.
What would you do differently?:

I could have gone harder in some of the opening miles, but it felt good to build. Actually, it was important to "warm up" with some easier miles early on. So my overall time could have been faster, but I also may have crashed and burned - I wasn't sure of my endurance level.

Warm down:

Jog back to the car with my wife.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of consistent training runs made me hold back being I was unsure of what I could do.

Event comments:

Got a water bottle handed to me with the top still on it near the end - I was holding my hat and my glove, and could barely get the top off. (Frozen fingers too...) Other than that, it was a great race! Back again next year!
