ok i just booked a hotel, i am coming. not racing but i figure that someones gonna need help with something. i'll be the loudest voice screaming on the side. gonna bring a non-tri friend along for everyone to get pumped up and get her ready to do a race of her own. thanks for putting all this together.

i'm gonna bring something, just don't know what. being kinda new to this myself i'm not really sure whats good and not good on pre-race eve. can i assume safely that beer and wine is out or will anyone be interested in one or two? i do believe i saw that someone mentioned brownies, i'm all in!

Dennis,

You like Shiner Zima right? Any other preferances?

Robert, despite their wide renown for great feats of athleticism, many of your fellow BTers will, in fact, consume an alcoholic beverage the night before a race. As I understand it, this occurs because they will occasionally need an empty beer bottle to use as a plumb bob while working with a fellow athlete on bike fit.

Proof that Celeste's "understanding" is 100% accurate...

I don't need such an fancy excuse for my reason to imbibe the day before.  I like my glass of red wine with my pasta, and that's the whole truth!

So do I get the travelled the furthest to get here award??

Hey guys, sorry I missed the party. My sister did have her baby (Lucy, 7lbs. 8oz) at 3pm on Sunday. I had just enough time to pick-up my packet and drop off the bike. I did meet up with Aaron and Dennis right before our start and actually saw Dennis during the race. I look forward to the next one!

My race report is up!

Congrats to everyone who was there, it was another hot and humid one

Dennis, THANKS AGAIN for a fantastic event!

mkbkharris, congratulations on your sister's new baby girl. yeah, yeah, okay, some things are more important than meeting up with other BTers.

and tag, THANKS for cheering us on. here's hoping your friend is a "convert" now - we'll look forward to seeing her at Mem Park one of these nights!

finally, Polly, congratulations on taking home the "traveled farthest" award. Perhaps you'll be able to repeat that at a Texas BT event sometime in 2007. (Of couse I am biased towards the Houston Marathon Party in January, personally, wonder why...)

I'm a newbie from SA. Sounds like you all had a fantastic time in Austin. I know a couple of others including my coach that went up. They all said is was great.

Is anyone else from San Antonio?

Congrats to everyone on their Tri.

My goal for my first tri is the Blanco Out Back Tri. Is anyone else planning on that one?

K

Yes, I'm doing Blanco with some non-BT friends. THat's the same weekend as River Cities, when a bunch of the TX BT folks journey over to Louisiana to spread the cheer. But I'm sticking closer to home & doing Blanco instead. Will start a Blanco thread too, okay?

Welcome to BT!
