Subject: 48 cm Javelin Barolo - $1100

Too many bikes in the garage, time to let one go.

This is my Javelin Barolo. I bought this off ebay about 2 years ago. I have only put 190 miles on it as I have been primarily riding my road bike. I would guess that it had about 500 miles when I got it. It came with an Ultegra and I have swapped that out to a Dura Ace.

The Barolo was ridden by pro triathletes 5 years ago, including a Vineman 70.3 victory by Simon Lessing and an IMAZ victory by Michael Lovato.

More information on the bike can be found here:

http://www.javbike.com/2011/09/10/barolo/

The bike is a 48cm with 650c wheels.
A geometry chart here:

http://www.javbike.com/geometry/

It is an aluminum frame with carbon fiber fork and seat stays. The wheels are 650c Zero A028. These are deeper than a standard box wheel and more aerodynamic. The fork is the Zero dual foil model, one of the most aerodynamic made. A list of other components follows:

Crank: Dura Ace 53/39
Cassette: Dura Ace 12-27
Chain: Dura Ace
Brakes: Ultegra
Front Deraileur: Ultegra
Rear Derailer: Ultegra
Aerobars: FSA Vision
Saddle: Profile Design Tri Stryke
Front Tire: 650c Pro Race 3
Rear Tire: 650c Michelin Lithion

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

1100 + shipping or I can meet in person in the Northern California area.

I have raced this frame in the past it is is a great bike at a great price. Think of this as a P3sl with better ride qualities. The frame has better aerodynamics that many carbon frames and is very comfortable. If you fit, buy it.

Past rides Scott Plasma 1, Javelin Barolo, Javelin Arcolo, Blue Triad, Cervelo P4, Litespeed Sienna, Airbone X-1, and a bunch of road bikes. I would put the Barolo as my 3rd fav ride right behind the P4 and Blue.

free bump for a great bike. This is basically the between a Cervelo P3 Alu and P3C. Someone needs to buy this because I do not need another loaner tri-bike in my stable.

IF I had the money, I would buy it. My perfect size, very simplistic (no over-decaling), and looks to be a great starter tri bike for the vertically challenged.

Ok, now you do sound like me. I picked up a Planet X Stealth around Xmas because I wanted a tri bike with 700c wheels so I could use my powertap with both my road and tri bike. Almost immediately I started trying to think of ways I could justify having 2 tri bikes. Seeing as how I haven't run a tri in 20 months... I really couldn't come up with any.

In the end i went with a qr cd0.1 700c bike but this a great bike. Aero wise this thing is at the p3 aluminum level. Better than several carbon frames that are for sale right now at significantly higher prices ($x,xxx for the frame).

You wont be finding much many, if any, tri bikes out there that will be smaller than this.

I have someone looking at the bike on Saturday locally but if that falls through I will be leaving it available for a few more days before parting it out.

I would recommend using the competitive cyclist fit calcluator to get a ball park idea of if the bike would work for her.

It looks like you could make it work with a 100 or 110 mm stem. I was riding it with a 70mm stem and my top tube range was 49.5-51.5. Every other measurement is good.
