I did it back when it was a half.... wish it still was!! Great course, and CGI puts on a nice race (although I must admit it's been a few years since I've done one of their races). Not sure the timing is going to work out for me to do Black Bear this year, but I would like to do it again some day....

How brutal are the hills? I've been riding some pretty major hills in Central PA. I hope that will be enough.

I am staying at the Comfort In Pocono Mountain.  Still a little bit of a drive away, but closer then home.

Quick question, for those that have done the spring course, how bad are the hills?  I am looking at last years times and the bike speeds seem to be pretty slow, so I am guessing the course has some killer hills.

Also, Still debating if I should wear the full wetsuit or my sleaveless/legless suit.  I haven't done a spring in a while and am concerned about how quickly I can get out of my full suit.  Still, I am not the greatest swimmer and I think the full suit would help on the swim.

I'm staying at Best Western Blakeslee-Pocono. It's about a 20-minute drive I think.

It depends on your perspective. Where have you been riding?I consider it hilly, but not brutal. It's not the ugliest I've seen, but it's also pretty far from the easiest.

I've been riding some pretty hilly routes in Central PA. I'm hoping to ride at Black Bear like I've been riding at home.

Did everyone have a good race with the perfect weather and what appeared to be a slightly short swim course?

I can't speak for the Olympic course, but I think the sprint course swim was WAY short.  Either that or I swim much faster in the open water then I ever do in the pool.  that being said, that bike course seemed to go on forever!  I would have liked more mile markers, I saw one at 7 miles. Those hills were killers!  My run was good, even if I never could get my watch on, but I liked that it was FLAT.  Really happy with my finish on this perfect day, 2nd in my age group, my first award in a Triathlon.  Good start to the season, hope everybody's else's day went well
