Total Time = 29m 57s
Overall Rank = 198/306
Age Group = F40-44
Age Group Rank = 13/25
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 6:10 a.m. Ate bowl of oatmeal. Left Hawkins at 7:15. Arrived Tyler appx. 40 minutes prior to start time.
Event warmup:

Ran warm-up laps on side streets, hydrated, went to the toilet.
  • 29m 57s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 59s  min/km

I found my breathing very strained in this race compared to previous efforts. At the time I thought my HR unusually eleveated, but checking it against previous events, it was the same overall.
What would you do differently?:

Do more speedwork. Wear lighter clothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Got some water, a banana, and walked.

Event comments:

Very popular--perhaps too popular--well organized race. Chip-timing was available and race results were up before the end of the day. (I had to leave the race before the awards, so I assume the results were available on site by 11 a.m.)
