Hi BTers,

My wife is auditioning for "The Voice" in Chicago and we are looking for a hotel outside Chicago ($ reason), any suggestions? We are coming from Michigan, so S/E of the city would work.

Thanks!

Hotwire. Great resource. I've stayed in the loop in a boutique, very nice hotel for $89/night. Even the Grand Hyatt for $100.

My hotel is in the Western Suburbs, right off the expressway.  What dates are you coming in for?

If Bmel cant help you out, don't rule out staying in the city just becasue of price.  I also have seen some ridiculous and used some of the deals off Hotwire, priceline, and hotels.com.

If you are going to be in chicago, enjoy the city.

I'm the Director of Sales at Eaglewood Resort and we have some availabilty over that time and can do a $59 friends and family rate. (we're both on BT, we're friends right?) Look it up www.eaglewoodresort.com and I'm going to PM you my info, call m if you're interested.

Otherwise NRG is right, Chicago is an awesome city and if you find a good rate there I would probably take it.  Just remember if you're driving to add $40+ for parking overnight.

If you are coming from Michigan and wanting to stay outside of the city, then your best bet is going to be in NW Indiana. There is a decent Fairfield in right off of 80/94 in Hammond, IN. Also, just as an FYI if you don't want to deal with driving into the city and parking you can take the South Shore from Indiana into Chicago.

Having said that. I agree with everybody else, I'd look at hotels.com, priceline, hotwire, etc... for a deal in the Loop, Gold Coast/Mag Mile or River North area. I'm not sure when the Voice additions are, but as long as they are not during some big convention, the G8 Summit this summer, Lollapalooza or some other big event you should be able to get a good deal somewhere.

Edit: Just saw your post with the March 2nd date. There are a few hotels on priceline for less than $100 for that night.

I imagine you'll be the place to be during the Ryder Cup?  Will it be $900 a night then? Tongue out

If you don't take Bmel's deal than there are some hotels downtown for around $100/night that weekend. I fiound them on hotels.com and they include Wyndham, Crowne Plaza, Hilton Gardens, etc.  Where are the auditions? I can help you find cheaper parking that's not $40 at the hotel.

Good luck to her!

First of all congrats on your  audition!  Thelast time Iwas there we did Priceline and stayed downtown Chicago at the Hilton on Wacker Drive for under 100.  The kicker is having to pay for parking your vehicle.  If possible take Amtrack into town rates are cheap.  The money you save in parking will pay for your train tickets.  Chicago has a good public trans system.  I know this isn't what you asked for but some suggestions.
