All I did was register and have it start an official thread when I put it into BT. I guess I will be going again

I was thinking of doing this race this year- ultimate goal being Queen of the Cranberries!  What can anyone tell me about the course?  Seems like it isn't too hilly...how is the water?  Thanks!

The course is mostly flat--bike & run, run can be hot as not a lot of shade, the water is shallow-weedy at sides, warm & fairly clean. The race is extremely well organized & volunteered and the BBQ after & awards is a good time- always a pretty good rendezvous for BTers old & new. It's one of my favorites.

I second all of the above. I have been doing this race since 2005, and sign up for all of the king of series.

Hi All,

For those of you not on the Sun Multisport Events email list, today's email to our list noted that we have less than 200 spots left in the Cranberry Trifest Olympic. It's hard to predict, but this race will likely sell out in the next 4-6 weeks. Sign up soon if you want to be sure of getting in.

Thanks.

1st year doing this one. Olympic for me on sunday and the sprint for my wife on sat. Course? Flat? Rolling hills? Have heard the run can be hot with no shade?

Thanks

The course is a nice mix. Some rolling, but also a bunch of flat around the lakes. Cross winds can be fun in those areas. A couple of decent climbs, but nothing to fear. The run has is about 1/2 in the shade, maybe a bit more. There is one good size hill about mile 5 which can mess with you.

The sprint course has been the oly run course twice. It also has a good size hill to run up.

Good luck with the race.

This will be my first Olympic distance race after ~8 or so sprints.  I'm excited but scared to death at the same time.  I was training for the Vermont marathon when in late April I suffered a stress fracture in my left foot.  Needless to say, I'm slowly working my way back up but my fitness really took a hit those couple months I was out of commission..

I just hope my body will itself through the 10k after the bike!!  All in all, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully a stepping stone to a possible 1/2 IM next summer.

Hi folks... so you know, we have a new bike course for the sprint this year. It's no longer a 6 mile loop completed 2x. The new course is a 14 mile trek through Lakeville, Berkley East Freetown and back. Some really nice riding. As for the oly bike course... it's in great shape and some of the roads in Rochester were recently paved which is always nice. See you all in 2 weeks!

Trifest this year was excellent in my opinion- thanks to Multisport for once again putting on a great race weekend. I volunteered on Saturday for the Sprint & raced the OLy..the new bike course was great ( tho due to construction had 1 funky section thru a parking lot, but I thought that was a good way to deal with the unavoidable issue of road construction there)One the Run your tent & company were missed as the BT base !!!! Looking forward to next year!
