Do you keep mementos from your races? Medals? T-Shirts? Bibs?

Here are mine:

I've got medals shoved into a drawer next to my bed.

I have the bib from my first Boston mounted and hanging on my office wall.

And a 26.2 sticker on my car. That's about it.

I've got medals for those that give them and cycling jerseys for HIM or longer for those races with that for sale.
I just gave away a metric buttload of swim caps from various races.

Oh, I've not bought a t-shirt type shirt for years and have many years left of wear in the tech shirts I've got from various goody bags from races.

I keep my favorite t-shirts (looks-wise, which race they're from has little to do with it, with the exception of my ironman shirt),

medals from my more memorable races, and swim caps (because I'm always losing them and too cheap to buy one).

I also save bib numbers from my best/ most endeared race performances.

My favorite race schwag are the duffel bags you get as prizes from the Foothills Sprint in Maryville, TN. I swear, these are the best quality bags I've ever had.

I keep all my race shirts to either sleep in or workout in. I have all my bib numbers in a scrapbook and all my medals hanging in my room.

My bibs hang in my walk-in closet.  Any medals I have hang with the appropriate bibs.  T-shirts are either worn or become my bike rags if I won't wear them.

This thread would be so much more helpful with pictures of what all of you do with your medals etc. to hang/display them.  I'm still trying to figure that out.  There's probably an entire thread on here dedicated to that which I haven't found yet.

I have a chicken bone necklace that houses the crushed dreams of my opponents.

Yes, this has come up on the discussion before.

I throw my swim caps at the race site - I hate those things!

I keep t-shirts that I like, especially tech shirts, and matriculate them into the gym wear system.  Nothing is saved/quilted, etc.  I am wearing my awesome fleece from a half marathon last October to work, as we type.  I also use various bags, cups, etc, most of which I like.

After hanging them on a hook for the first few years, I have ultimately tossed my medals in a bag and put them on a shelf in my office.  I have SO MANY medals, there's no way to display them all without being really obnoxious.  My niece thinks they are cool, so I will keep them at least until she tires of asking to look at them.  But I will still probably keep them forever, I think they are cool and really easy to store.  I suspect they will end up in a container in the attic.    I do have a Ragnar medal hanging by the downstairs fridge, since they have an integrated bottle opener.  I should stick a giant magnet on the back of it...

I put my stuff, along with a couple runs my wife and son did, in a shadow box:

I have a few finishers medals hung on the wall in my workout room as a form of "motivation."  I don't hang them all since I would be out of wall space.  I have a few medals from PR races, a few AG wins, and a few of my "virgin" distance medals like first marathon, first Oly, etc.

The nice tech shirts go into the training pile and replace old ones.  T-shirts may be worn if cool looking but most of they time they are in the donation pile.  I do have a few race numbers I saved but I am not really sure why.  I should probably go home and clean them out.

On a similiar note, if someone is every looking to get rid of their finishers medals then consider the special olympics.  I know there are a few other organizations that do the same thing so please don't just throw them away.

I consider myself a utilitarian.  Like BikerGrrl, I immediately toss the swim caps because I hate wearing them and have never worn one outside of a race.  I also toss race bibs.  I wear t-shirts and tech shirts and rotate them once the drawer becomes full.  I never know what to do with the metals - I wish they would hand out something more useful or lower the price of the race by $5.  Too nice to toss out, so I put them on the bookshelves.

I cut the ribbon off of my medals and hang them on the Christmas tree as ornaments.
