Going to ride the course this weekend for lack of anything better to do.  Any places we need to be careful or take note of?

Well I can answer this now.  Watch for the entire course.  Maybe I'm spoiled riding down here in Sarasota but the roads up there are horrible.  Lots of potholes and cracks that can swallow wheels (while descending at 30mph+).  And the traffic was terrible.  We didn't go more than 5 mins in the 2+ hours without being passed by a car (and usually it was way too close).

I know it'll be better race day (traffic wise) but I'm not going back there to do any training.  San Antonio is much nicer... and safer...

Sorry, you had that experience.  I've ridden the area many times and not had any problems with cars.  Of course, I try to make sure I'm off CR19 (or is it SR19) before 9am.  I agree that some of the roads really need repaving; hopefully the county will see to it soon since there are so many cyclist out there.

Yeah 19 was BAD.  An 8 mile slog straight into a 20mph headwind with cars buzzing by you.  The rest of the course was better but still a lot more traffic than I would have expected even back by Ferndale and Montverde.

Actually we skipped it this time.  It was my wife's first time out there and I didn't want to scare her off yet
