My YMCA in Houston ( Cossaboom Branch) has shower curtains...so yes, YMCAs do.

Yea... as much as I want to believe this story on the mere "how hot is that" value, I think I'm calling BS too.  Way to many things that don't make sense.  Leaving your towel 10 meters away from the shower?  A Y with actual stalls and curtains? Going into the wrong room after a workout... where did you keep your shower stuff while working out... did you carry it around the gym with you?

No matter what it was a funny story.

Here is my worst.  Two years ago I went to running store to pick up my race registration.  After race registration I decided I would buy some new shorts they had on sale.  I wanted to try them on so I asked the clerk if the changing room was open?  He says yep.  So I open the door.  Now mind you the door to the changing room faces the registration table.  This poor lady is in there buck naked pulling on some running gear.  She screams and I slam the door.  I look at the clerk and he is white.  I buy the shorts and run out of there before the lady gets out of the changing room.  I was soo embarassed.  I would have knocked if the clerk hadn't indicated the room was open.  Anyway who goes in a changing room and gets naked without locking the door?

Why does any one feel the need to call BS on this? I don't get it...

At the University of Washington, while I was there, the intramural sports building went through a major renovation. The men's locker room had a wall put in half-way down, and the women took over that portion (the women's locker room had been at the other end of a long hallway previously). The sauna was then used by both sexes...

There were a couple times when it first was divided that men would go into the sauna naked...

And there were a few times where women would walk into the men's locker room after the renovation was done, and the women's locker room was back at the other end of the hallway...

When I was in college I moved to a floor that was coed by room. It apparently was a joke among the people who'd lived there for a while to wait til the new people went into the showers (men's at one end and women's at the other, but everybody just eventually used whatever was closer as the showers had doors and were enclosed, for the most part) and then take their clothes and towels.

So my first day there I go in and am showering and when I get done I open the door and my towel and clothes and whatnot were gone. So I shut the door and turned the water back on and stood there contemplating my next move for about 15 minutes. I'm not shy so after a while I just said eff it and walked back to my room, slowly, waving at people as I went. Since it was the first day, people's parents and grandparents were still there, helping people move in.

Good times.

Must have been something in the air this weekend.

This weekend (Friday 7am - Saturday 7pm) was the Tampa Double Iron Tri, held at Flatwoods Park. Flatwoods does not normally allow overnight campers; it is allowed only for this event. So, by 7pm the park is empty with the exception of athletes, support crew and race crew (I am part of race management).

At around 9pm Friday, after a long day in the sun and just before I was going to have a short nap before assuming the 3am shift, Jeff and I decide to grab a shower (not together!) at the bike wash area, located a couple hundred yards away from the run course and a new hundred yards from the park entrance. It was a very dark night, so I thought it would be okay to go for it. I finally got up the nerve to shed my clothes and step under the shower when car lights hit the area. ACK! But the car keeps moving, so I flashed only very momentarily. By the time I was vigorously (hurriedly) washing my hair, out of the corner of my eye, I catch someone walking behind me as I'm yakking away. I use my Jedi mind powers and decide to pretend they just weren't there. It's during a race, and any public nudity at a race just doesn't count. That's my rule.

But I like your story better. Bright lights and all.

Left Brain - 2012-02-24 2:18 PM Last year I was in the shower, the men's shower, when two gals came walking in from the pool area.  They stopped and just stood there for a second.  I said, "how's it going, you got the wrong door".  One of them said, "oh, geez, sorry".....and still just stood there.  Then she goes, "Aren't you the guy with the twins?"  I said, "Yep".  She said, "I thought so".....and then they walked out. I thought for a minute that we were just going to have a full conversation while I showered. Laughing

What TWINS were they asking about???
