Hoping to get out there today with newbz and get a couple hours riding done, but man I am not good in the wind. I get blown all over.

Guess I should start uploading my rides into Strava so we can share.

You can draft off me anytime.  I am a good wind blocker.  Strava?  I'll be sure to check it out now.  How do we share?

Dunno. Apparently you can't upload power files from my Joule to Strava. And I was too stupid to think about the GPS. So we did 30 miles of hills, and I know we went up Schoolhouse Lane in Chestnut Hill and I just didn't know most of the other roads.

If Dave (newbz) reads this, please be a nice guy and tell everyone where we went!

If you want a long hill, do the Shawmont Ave hill at the start of the SRT.  it goes up about 3/4 of a mile from the bottom to top.  Its got some traffic, but not tons, It is a good start/finish on the flat SRT.  Also you can bookend it with the hill out in Oaks.  That ones not as long, but is pretty steep, plus no traffic on that one.

Nice to hear people riding from Delco, After my spring marathon, I will be focused on trying to improve my bike this year.  Hopefully I can join you guys for a couple weekend rides.

Good hill, I run this for marathon training. Also Chestnut Ave. is good, longer than Shawmont. I ran that one once, it was enough.

Shawmont is fun for repeats. I love flying down that sucker

That is definitely the better direction! Time for serious hill training, I signed up for Musselman yesterday.

Correct. This is a tough ride. It could be made tougher by going downhill down Port Royal and back up Shawmont, or by going up Shawmont first and then up Hart's Lane. But who would want to do that

Brian,

I did a variation of the hill portion of this ride as part of my long ride this weekend.  Good hill climbing.  A couple of notes:

Manor is closed off.  There is severe road damage and they've shut down the road by dumping debris at two points.  That said, I was still able to go down parts of it. There also is a cobblestone/dirt portion at the end of Port Royal with some vicious rocks.  So I didn't take it all the way down to the SRT.  Shawmont is a great hill.  Hart's is harder :/.  When climbing Hart's and cutting into the ACE conference center, its a bit tricky.  You kind of have to enter some guys driveway and bike past a barrier.  Easy to bike up to Barren Hill and Ridge Pike if you miss it.

Here's my ride.  I came at it from the North.  And yes I rode in the rain yesterday.  Felt like a total HARDMAN: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/161012425

I knew it was cobblestone heading onto the SRT. Train tracks, too. I've run that. Man I want to do that ride, it's looks like it will hurt in a good way! I looked at your data on Garmin Connect, hills start, elevation goes up, heart rate goes up, speed goes down. Nice ride
