Hey all, was wondering if anyone knew of any cycling clubs, or regular training rides in the Chesapeake Beach / North Beach area.  I'll be spending most of my weekends in that area this summer and don't know of any groups that ride out that way.

Thanks!

Southern Anne Arundel / Northern Calvert on the Chesapeake.

I'm sure I could find a bunch of stuff in the Annapolis area but that is about a 40 minute drive from where I am and would like to find something a little more "local".

I ride around there a lot on weekends.  There are some great routes in that area.  Don't know of any regular rides besides those out of Annapolis though.

These guys ride out of Davidsonville every weekend. Not sure if that helps you out or not.

I live in that area, too, but haven't had any luck finding regular groups to ride with.  The Chesapeake Church does an annual ride to end hunger - www.endhungercalvert.org ??????- there are four routes listed on their website that may give you some options.

Thanks All.  I did see the ABC folks when I was skimming around the internet and I would likely join them.  Davidsonville is somewhat closer to me and I saw that they have a few loops that actually go right by place, so theoretically I could ride up to the park and ride lot, join the group and break off when I get back by my place on the loop.  That way I don't even have to drive!

That cool thanks.  Also, FYI, my wife and I did a ride last october that was put on by the Cystic Fibrosis foundation that left out of Rose Haven and they had 3 routes (27, 50, and 60 miles), so you can check that out if you're interested.  BTW it was the first year for this particular ride.

I am hoping to do the CF ride this year.  One of my daughter's close friends has CF.

Oh man, sorry to hear that.  I hope you can make the ride this year.  It was very well done last year, and depending on the date I'll be doing it again, I've got a HIM in Oct. so we'll see if there is any conflict, but if not I'm in again this year.
