Subject: Murphy strikes again.....

So finally splurge for my first tri-bike, got tri-specific shoes, register for 5 races this summer all set right?  Just got back MRI results, torn meniscus on both sides of knee and tore my ACL.  Surgery.  So much for this season.

Now the big question will be should I still plan on my ironman next year?  soon to be 44 and this is the 2nd ACL tear and surgery.  I do not want a third....but man I love the sport of triathlon.....sigh

That sucks!  Sorry about the bad news.  Running injury or something else?  Running is hard on the body....

Awful news. I say keep IM as a goal and when you get stronger work on your running form. As you heal, see if next year is still realistic. If not, reassess then. But be patient, be smart, and listen to your doctor.
