I can bike ok but like many of my running buddies the swim is still a mystery. I can swim for fun no problem but the breathing and training parts I am still getting used to. I am going to do my first try in Long Beach, CA on Sept 22, 2003

Hello David

My name is Jim Hallberg, Strangely we have a lot in Common. I too started as a runner, and learned to swim Late in life. One of the best things I did for myself was to take an adult beginner swim class (3-6weeks). This has helped a ton of people get relaxed, comfortable and be able to breath while swimming so that from there you can improve in the sport as a whole. Submerse yourself in the water. Learn to be comfortable and relaxed with it. the more frequently you visit the water the faster you'll adapt. even if its just 15-20minutes at a time to start.

How many hrs a week or how many workouts a week do believe you'll have time for?

Is the triathlon you will do a sprint or an Olympic distance program.

Take care. Train Safe.
