kidtri33 - 2012-05-15 11:03 PM I am excited but nervous at the same time. This being my first ever is going to be really cool. I know I am not going to be able to sleep Saturday night...
This is my fourth time doing this one and I still get that feeling. I gotta tell you it is so awesome getting there early when it is still "O" dark hundred, pulling your bike off the rack, grabbing your gear, and walking over to the transition area. At first it is real quiet almost surreal and as more people arrive you can feel the excitemnt and the tension build, it almost feels electric.

Getting to meet new people and see others that you have not seen for a while or only spoke to in the forums, and honestly most of us their are concerned with how to improve their performance, it is not about beating the other guy (Or Gal) but about beating last years time.

You will have a grea race and a great time, make sure you get plenty of pictures and don't forget to post your race report.

Make sure that you get your number on very dark during Body marking, that way mondy morning you can say "Oh Yeah that, well it was from race yesterday" said with a very casual tone.

BTW I will be wearing my "Zombieland" cowboy hat sicne I don't know my number yet.

I am sorry to hear this, but healing is more important.

You will come back better and stronger next year.

Are the kids doing it this year?

Bummer, but healing is better than injuring it further. Hope you heal up and come back stronger.

So I had a swim workout this morning and my 300 time was faster than what I put down by about 15-20 secs. Will this be a big issue? Have you guys ever passed anyone in a snake swim or do you just hold back?

I have pased and been passed. M ost people there are very good about pulling over. Give a tap on the foot and they will shift over, or wait till the wall. The only "problem" is if you are passing as some one else is passing coming from the other direction. (Happened to me once).

Yiu will probably be 10-15 seconds ffaster on the day of the race anyway, adrenaline, excitement, nervous energy, etc.... The important thing is to run YOUR race. not someone elses. If some is passing you let them. If you to pass somone so be it. Don't get put into a postion that you are holding back or pushing to hard.

The weather forecast is good, the venue is gorgeous, and Triathletes are great people.
