Run
Comments: My PRE felt pretty labored during mile 2.5 through mile 4. I definitely fell off the pace of the first mile which I did in 6:23. It was a struggle to keep my pace around and under the 7 minute mark but I did it. The last mile I just made sure to push and get into the pain cave mentally so I'd know that this was supposed to be labored and supposed to be an effort. I'm pretty sure I ran the last mile in about 6:20 What would you do differently?: Not too much. I had quite the festive weekend with all the St. Pat's festivities and I had a little too much fun. I'm also battling a cold or something that has never really taken hold but it's still bothering me a little bit. Possibly a GU or energy gel would have gone a long way but I havn't been training with them so I didn't bring any. Post race
Warm down: I jogged over to my car to drop off my water and back to the event for the party & free Guinness. What limited your ability to perform faster: Breathing was a bit labored from a bit of a cold and I did partake in some fun over the weekend with little sleep overall. Event comments: This race finally came through with post race activities which were pretty awesome. The race, as always, has a good course and is packed with crazy people trying to run only to find out that their costumed most times slow them down Last updated: 2012-03-07 12:00 AM

Nothing special. This was a very late starting race so I got to do everything that needed to be done then pop over to the race. Ate a banana and 2 liters of water prior to the race.
10 minute easy run through along the path with Striders on the way back.
