North Charlotte - safest bike routes

Looking for a 10+ mile route (25-40 ideally) that has relatively little traffic and relatively few dogs (where I normally ride there are always 5-6 loose dogs, I'm not worried about getting bitten but having one of the darn critters getting caught up in my pedals/wheels).  My schedule is so erratic that it is difficult to plan on standard group rides.  Usually try to get in a few rides weeknights after work (I can rarely make the 6:00 start time for most of the group rides) or weekend early mornings.

Booty Loop is great but gets old after a while.  So far the best solo route area I have found is the back roads around Davidson, but looking for any additional thoughts.  Thanks in advance for any input!
