The good folk at Nytro in San Diego posted this photo to their Facebook page. A photo attributed to be a Garmin Vector.

This could suggest something about the potential status of the proposed product.

Chain is in the small ring, tsk tsk.

Am I not seeing it or does it look like the transmitter pod isn't attached?

I thought the same thing- it is hidden behind the pedal because the pedal is hanging heel downward.

Tom...isn't there a pod on each pedal? It doesn't look like there is a pod on the NDS either?

The pod is on the leading side of the pedal though....

From the Garmin site:

I think the pod device is static relative to the crank. In other words, the thing rotates with the crank- so the little pod deally-oh doesn't move relative to the crank arm.

I think... Undecided

I believe your right, it's got that little offset fob/transmitter part.

However, there is nothing on the other crank arm .  To get L/R power, you'd need a fob doohicky on both sides

If you look at the pic of the non-drive side, you should see the pod. What I mean by that is the only way you couldn't see the pod is if it was in-line with the crank arm. If that's the case, it wouldn't read the transmission, if I understand correctly. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Either way, it doesn't affect me (yet). I'm a speedplay kind of guy and am about ready to pull the trigger on a quarq...that said, have you had a chance to review the new SRAM Red quarq yet?

Right, I didn't word that properly.  I meant the leading side of the crank arm.  So in the OP, the pod should be clearly visible.

The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that there isn't a pod on the non-drive side (at least). The reason I say this is that the pod has a rubber piece that is the connector that actually wraps around the crank arm and "inserts" into the hole on the inside of the crank arm.

You know what- I have to change my opinion and agree with you. I wonder if there is the possibility we are just seeing the pedal unit- no power measurement component here. The more I look at this the more I am seeing only the pedal, not the protruding power measurement component.

Hmmm.

Noooooooo!!!  I was all excited, but perhaps it was just a tease.

Yeah- I think it may just be the pedal. Fiddlesticks. That isn't much fun.

Holy crap! Tom D agreed with me without some long convoluted story about when he was in Vietnam on a training ride...

J/K Tom...most of my information I got from watching videos on dcrainmaker's site...Ray's got some vid's from the chief of the product line outlining most of the information...this lead me to my "remarkable" discovery.

I, like you, think all we are seeing is the actual pedal body...sure, it's probably got the spindle and such with it, just not the transmitter...it may actually be a functioning unit however with no way to transmit the data right now (at least on that bike).

Yeah but it fits pretty well with the whole delay process in these Garmin pedals doesn't it? Ie; when will they ever be seen?

Apparently not until June now.
