Oddly enough there is an Olympic also being run at the Gator "Half".  I will be there for that.  This should be a great warm-up for St. Anthony's.

Had a great time.  Vastly improved from last year.  I had a great swim in a calm lake with plenty of support.  The bike course was murder due to an unexpected rain storm; lots of flats from the road debris.  Run was not at all scenic but it did the trick.  The open transition area works for me. I am so happy I brought bug spray.  Sad the lighting guy did not show up, but we all managed with head lamps; assuming you brought one.  Great t-shirt and hat.

Post race food was awesome!  Great burgers and soda-pop.  Would do this race again.

I enjoyed the race too.  Swim was great, temperature turned out perfect (ie could wear a wetsuit without overheating).

I was surprised by all the flat tires.  Lost some time when I stopped to help someone change one.  I finished with a flat that I didn't realize I had - the rattling was bad but I thought it was just the road.  Did you see debris?  I saw one broken bottle and lots of broken pavement and holes.  Wind on the return got a little tedious.

Looking forward to improving on my time next year.

thanks for stopping and helping, this is the true spirit of a great athlete,

we had few challenges, but did the best we could to manage, the new venue is a improvement yes, the rain was insane, and you had a head wind on the way back

i am glad you like the "full belly burgers"

Thierry,

Totally enjoyed the race and would recommend it to others.  You can count me in next year.

There were a ton of flats out there.  I was lucky, by the time I picked up my bike from transition after the race my rear tire was almost flat.

For next year a couple thoughts.  Swim seemed a little short for the HIM and the bike seemed a bit long (although I can't confirm that - my Garmin froze 80 minutes into the ride).  I checked out the mapmyride route on the website and I thought the police officer at the turnaround might have may been a little further down the road (again, I'm not 100% certain, just my perception).

Well done and thanks.
