Comments: Started off at a easy pace. Was looking forward to moving and warming up. Took less than a mile and I was starting to sweat, which was good since I was cold at the beginning. Took it easy during the first couple, but I was anxious for the first water station. For some reason didn't bring any water with me to the start. First bridge came in between 2.5 and 3. Back held up pretty well. Long straightwaway on the causeway between Cape May and Wildwood Crest. Had to stop to pee at the porta-potty. Wasn't in a big rush or else I would have used the bushes. Second bridge was short, had run over it before while down at my Mom's. Took a gel at the next water station and then saw Stacey and the kids. Big pick-me-up. Love seeing them at races. Miles 7 & 8 were good, into WWC and then along the bike path in front of the beach. Mile 9 was tough, pace slowed. Decided 10 was going to be my best mile. Picked it up and finished well. What would you do differently?: Train. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: Hope to make this an annual event. Good race to start off the year. Last updated: 2011-07-25 12:00 AM

Had a Nature Valley bar and some water.
Stacey dropped me off at the start. Warmed up a little and did some dynamic warm-up excercises and stretching that I learned at PT. Back was feeling pretty good. It was really fun to be back in a race environment. I've missed it a lot.
