Alright, y'all.  Time is ticking down to Sullivan.  6th year doing it and it is always the kick start to my season.

Anyone else joining in the fun?

I'm in. This will be my 3rd year. Like you, this is always my kick start to the Tri year. I start my HIM training a week after this race so it's a fun way for me to get going for a long summer of training!

Hopefully Mother Nature will be kind to us!

I'm skipping out this year but best of luck to everyone racing. Have a blast and hope you get a break with the weather like we did last year!

TriBoilermaker - 2012-04-10 6:54 AM 60 degrees - 20mph winds

Dear God I hope it is warmer than that.  I don't care about the wind.  Doesn't bother me. But I just don't want it to be that cool.

Oh, and which direction for the wind.  I'm hoping straight out of the south.

Ok, so maybe I was being too negative! How about over/under 70 degrees and 15 mph winds out of the South?

I am in, 6th year as well (maybe 8th really stopped counting). I am hoping it wont be like when we had hail or the tornado warning!

I am also doing Petersburg but just the short one as a warm up (seeing if I remember how to transition).

See you there John.  Will be good to see you again.

So as of right now, Intellicast has the forecast as 71, mostly cloudy, chance of rain and wind at 11mph from the SW.  That will change at least 3-4 times before we get there.

Forecast as of this morning says 61 degrees, sunny and winds at 13 mph from the north. I could do with a little less wind, but I will take the temperature and no rain!!

Yep.

Be a bit cooler than normal.  But no rain is good.  Wouldn't mind another 5 degrees up though.

Another year in the books. I almost stayed home when I saw the weather for today! Every year I say I'm not racing Sullivan next year - but then I always go back.

Agree. I was halfway there and still thinking about turning around. Glad I didn't.

Had a fun day. Unfortunately, if you look back at my first prediction of the weather I was pretty close (60 degrees and 20 mph winds)!! That bike ride was not as much fun as I would have liked, but overall a good day and now the season has started. Hope everybody had fun and are fired up for the season!

Had a GREAT race.  Missed the podium by 34 seconds.  Fastest I've ever done that race.  Fastest I've ever run a 5k other than a few stand alones.  I have a feeling this is going to be a great weekend.

And with the winds I've been biking in lately, yesterday really didn't bother me all that much.  Pleasantly surprised.

I agree that it was a good time.  The windy was strong but not to bad as many of my recent training rides lately have been in windy conditions.  I had an overall good race and great time.  I bettered my time from last year and enjoyed the after race hanging out.  This was my second time for this tri and I will be back.

My wife also did the race and ended up medaling in her very first tri.  She said the race was very tough.  Even tougher than doing the Goofy Challenge at Disney World. She kept saying that this would be her last, but then they called her name for placing and she was ecstatic.  A little while later, she even started talking about how she could do some more training and be ready for another tri this year.  She may be hooked.  :-)

Sullivan is becoming a very fast race. Once I was less than a second from podium now I would have to be 10 minutes faster than that time!
