Welcome aboard from a relative newbie. Lots of great folks and incredible amounts of info here. Sounds like you'll do great with your running background and actually ejoying the swim. All you need is the bike - which suprisingly (I've never really cycled before) is the most enjoyable to me for now.
Have fun!

Welcome Karen, sounds like you have some experience with racing, and now that you are picking up swimming, putting it all together for a July Tri sound like you should be prepared. Good luck.

Tris thus far? 0. First race in 13 days, training for a little over 2 months. I plan to get in 2 more this year.

As to how I got interested: My wife started training 2.5 months ago for her first triathlon, and after a few weeks persuaded me to join her. I went out for a run for the first time in years, started reading this board, and next thing you know I'm hooked.

Have fun.

Welcome to BT. I am a newbie too so the only advice I can give you re: swimming is just to keep getting in the water and getting that pool time. You will get more comfortable as you continue.

Good luck with your training!

I am not the best swimmer either, but from what I have been told, just practice and things get better. You mentioned you have an aunt in Utah, does she do Tris as well?
