You should all come up and do IMWI in 2014 ... it will be a hilly experience unlike many others.  I think Karen is doing it then ... trying to talk Kelly into it.

I won't be doing it, but would be happy to cheer you all on!

No desire to do Wisconsin.  The timing pretty much limits me to only doing 1 IM during the year, the bike course rolls, its neither hard enough to reward smart pacing, nor flat enough to allow for a PR and I Wisconsin is a pain to get to from CT.

Cold is really an understatement.  We're talking low 50s.  Serious hypothermia issues.  WTC has set up warming huts on the swim out to deal with the issue.

Really? I'd do Wisconsin again, and again. What a great city, food, beer, spectators - it's one big party! I get what you're saying about the bike, but I loved that bike course.

If I do an IM in 2014 it'll probably be Wisconsin. Depends on what my friends do though. I'd actually like to go international, maybe Switzerland?

I didn't know it was that cold.  Maybe they shouldn't be having it at that time if people are having serious hypothermia issues.  That's unhealthy and unnecessary (and silly).  I am all for a challenge, and I don't shy away from races because they are hilly, hot, etc., but serious hypothermia is a turnoff.

I have no idea what I want to do after IMMT.  I need to see how I am able to juggle parenting and training, and I need to find out if the full IM is the right distance for me.  My kids' activities are starting to grow in number, and it's only going to get worse.  I'm thinking I may have to bring it back down to olympic distance after this summer.  Having said that, if I totally rock the IMMT or absolutely fall in love with it, then I'm doing another one in 2014.

All this IM talk has me excited about 2014 and I haven't even made it to 2013 I did ask the wife what she would like to do and she would like to do a destination one and make a trip out of it.

Trying to catch up here. So much going on with all of you. Anyway, I'm in for he 2013 mentor group if you'll allow. And promise to be more involved once I'm back to full training. Stitches out tomorrow. Possibly pool as early as next week.

I would agree it is not a PR course, but alot of people have done better placement-wise because of the difficulty of the course.  I also know many that do multiple IM"s with IMWI.  Most tack on IMFL, IMAZ or IMCoz after.

You couldn't just fly into Madison?  Or would you have to fly into Chicago or Milwaukee?

Did a nice brick this morning with 1:15 on the trainer followed by a 6 mile run. It occured to me that with the residual training of last year for the HIMs I feel like I could go out and PR an Olympic right now and it's December. Nice feeling to have.

I'm in for another session.

Heading back to Atlanta today. I miss my dogs, isn't that sad. I miss my husband and son too, but I really miss my dogs, their stinky breath and wagging tails.

All this working out makes me want to go for a run. Can you all run a few extra miles for me? I guess I'm going to have to hit spin class tomorrow, or maybe the pool. Oh dear, don't know that I remember how to swim. Heh!

Put the new mentor group in the "staging" area today.

I'll let you know when it goes live.

Bike TT this morning + short t run.  Rest day tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to getting an extra hour of sleep

Off to work as a volunteer at Madge's craft day, and then I'm heading to Gordie's Christmas concert at the preschool.  Will it ever be holiday break?????

Looks like we're getting a blizzard as well.  Fun stuff.

So I got up and went and lifted (more just spotted and listened) with a friend who lost his dad this week.  Have a 1:30 trainer ride with intervals the last 30 minutes coming up here in a second.  Doing laundry so we can pack too.  Abby's Christmas Pageant is tonight.  We'll see how shy she acts on stage.

Rest day for me.  I stayed up really late wrapping the kids' gifts, so I was thankful to be able to sleep in a little later.  My voice was gone this morning when I woke up.....nothing but a squeak.  I caught a really bizarre cold/virus from the kids.  I was going from 4:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. yesterday.  I am exhausted!  It looks like today may be more of the same.

We were supposed to start our first leg of our trip to Disney today. Instead, took 3 kids to the pedi and 2 were diagnosed with the flu and started on tamiflu and 1 was diagnosed with just bronchitis. Ugh. One of the kids is really bad - he is worried she may turn into pneumonia. Great start to the already stressful vacation - my mother in law is freaking that we won't get there.

I just scoped out urgent care places and the ER just in case. Hopefully we won't need to use them. I think we are going to try to leave tomorrow and just take it slow. Wish us luck!
