So my usual ride is about 10-15 miles. And for so crazy idea I thought I would go to this town thats the top of a hill. It was 26 miles from my door to the square with 1750 feet climb. To my suprize I actually made it there pretty good and when it was time to go back home I had to climb for 4 miles. But I was struggling! I honestly thought I was gonna pass and just drop on the floor. Thank God I was able to make it to we're it starts to decent. I was a total of 52 mile round trip. I was proud of my self for making it but it nearly killed me lol

Reminds me of the time I kept pushing into the wind, went 30 miles before turning around. Then I realized that the wind was actually with with me on the ride out, and now I really had to do 30 miles into the wind

Ditto.  My longest ride last year (50miles).  I was heading south and just flying - thought I had finally learned how to ride.  Stopped at the half-way point and when I turned around realized I had a powerful head wind and now I had to fight it all the way home (with all the hills along the way as well).

Since then, I try to ride into the wind on the first half and then return with the wind.  We have enough hills here so I get them no matter which way I go.

Awesome job!  My first (and only lol) 50 mile ride was from Fountain Hills to Bush Highway and down to Mcdowell and back over the the Beeline and back.  At mile 40 my legs gave out and I was riding about 5mph just to keep going.  But now I go on 30-40 mile rides and not only do I know I can do it, but I know I can push myself harder because I know what I've done.  That climb sounds wicked by the way!
