Pre-race routine:

Got there plenty early. It was pretty cold (for CA). Took refuge in the mall. Emerged in time, and got ready to go.

Just kept warm; no real warm up

Comments:

First run of the year. Came in pretty shy on training. Had no real time expectations. Just jogged it out. Obviously wasn't going hard, but pretty happy with the morning either way. Compared to last year, when I was similarly out of shape, I walked too much on the last 5 miles. This time I jogged the whole way, albeit slowly.

What would you do differently?:

Was happy with what I did with the training I had at my disposal. Just train more.

Post race

Warm down:

No real warm down. Milled about and went home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just no real volume coming in. I had done some Insanity work for a few weeks, but not much on the road.

Event comments:

Just a gorgeous race. Will do every year I think.
