I've got this one on my list, haven't registered yet.  Does it usually sell out?

Matt, will this be a PBR event then?

I haven't signed up either but considering doing it especially with the early snow melt and high temps I'm guessing that the water might be warm this year.

Would this be a good first race in four years? The only other one I've done was at this venue too. I'm getting too antsy to want to wait for the 5430 I signed up for.

I've never done this one before but always hear good things about it. If you've race there before you'll probably feel pretty comfortable there. I was like you...couldn't wait for 5430 and needed to do something sooner!

I did this last year although they had to change it to a duathlon due to some high e-coli levels in the water.   Looks like that won't be an issue this year although I'm doing Colfax Marathon that weekend instead.  The bike course is pretty interesting as you do several loops.  Run course isn't too bad if you don't mind a couple of moderate hills.

That's all relative.  The start is not too far from my house, but I didn't even consider doing it because of the water temps.

Well I did Pelican Fest Tri last year at this time at it was 61 degrees and already the Windsor Lake (where the Pelican Fest is) is already a balmy 68 degrees. So things must the warmer with the early snow melt and the higher temps. I'm excited!

This is a really fast swim.  The water temp has historically been between 61 and 64 degrees.  It's hardly warm but you won't get hypothermia, either.  Wear a wetsuit and you'll be fine.  The run is the best part of this race and it makes the cold water a lot more bearable.

Race is SOLD OUT and water temps will hit a record this year.  3 weeks ago we hit 61 degrees and we'll have a current temp up this Wed on our Facebook and Website.  Good luck to all that are racing and if you're looking at the Steamboat Lake Sprint we're 65% full.

Getting excited!  Can't wait for Saturday.  It will be my first open water swim tri.  Second tri of the year and since I have started training for my new hobby I have almost lost 30lbs!
