Subject: RE: Tahoe Rim Trail 100 Haven't done the race, but this is what I know about it. The 100 is a 2 loop course that hovers near 8000' feet above sea level, so altitude is a factor. Reported 20k+ feet of elevation gain in climbing. Snow fields, water crossings, sometimes tricky footing. Kilian Jornet broke the TRT 165 mile FKT record a couple years ago and that guy is a mountain running specialist, two time UTMB winner who doesn't do any runs that aren't really ridiculously hard. But it has gorgeous scenery. Unreal beauty. Views of the lake, the mountains, lots of 180+ degree views. Very high on my list of races to do. |
