I live about 10 minutes away but unfortunately I'll be in Amsterdam on a Baltic cruise.  Actually it's fortunately, but I will miss the race this year.

For those of you interested it's June 2nd on Oak Island.  Here's the link:

I'll pass as well.  I'm in for Kure Beach again this year.  It's too unique of a race to pass up.  The Oak Island RD probably should have shot for a different weekend.  I love the idea of having another "local" race but I wish it was on a different weekend.

Anyone hearing much on this, noticed today that the sponsor listed on the website is Trysports.  Was up there yesterday and it was indicated to me that they are not sponsoring this race.

Actually it's being run by Without Limits Coaching.  And TrySports is listed as a sponsor along with BRP Bike Shop.  Maybe things have changed as the race isn't listed on Trysports website.  Here's the link http://www.withoutlimits.co/bridge-to-bridge-triathlon#!__bridge-to-bridge-triathlon

Anyone hearing anything on this?  One week out and still no announcement about packet pickup although I did see an advertisement in the local paper for the race itself.  Just curious, hate to see this not happen, but would race at Kure Beach if this is not going to happen.

I will help with the calm the nerves!

This weekend while I was vacationing at Oak Island, I saw a 4 foot hammerhead shark...but the good news is that it was dead! Dead sharks bother no one.

The tropical storm that went through last weekend brought in about 4 billion cannonball jellyfish...but the good news is that they generally don't bother people! Maybe the new tropical storm will wash them back out to sea.

The water was 75 degrees this weekend and quite comfortable, wetsuit or not.  Good news!

Hydrate well.  It is humid as heck at the beach and morningsdo not cool down at all.  It was usually 74 when I went out for my runs at 6:30am.  But when the wind blows 20mph, it makes it feel good.  Good news!

Relax. Have fun. For dinner post race, go early to the Fish House Restuarant and get the seafood steam pot. YUM!

Actually quite impressed today with the production company that put this on.  I can see this race growing in the future if they can get the dates coordinated better with Setup and Kure.  Neat run course and bike course was pretty smooth and fast.  Great job to everyone today and Without Limits Productions!

Glad to hear that this race went well.  It's the one race I can practice for on the actual course.  I hope to be there next year.
