Anyone have any advice for tackling the massive hill in this race?

Honest: the hills are not too bad on this race, Getting out of the dam area (is tough), then flat, then a slow false flat until mile 7-8, and the last 2 miles are up hill, but short--it goes quick. I'll see if I can post my garmin, you could also look on mapmyride.com I suspect. This will be my 6th year on the course!

Be glad about the hills going back as sometimes you will be fighting a headwind!

Suspect that if you went over to the Coeur De Arlene (sp?) area you could find some hills that where really close to the race..

The run is an out & back, mile 1-1.15 has some rollers, then a flat section along a steam.

It's really not a hard course!

OnionMan will be my first 'real' tri of actual distance, so I'm pretty excited (and a bit nervous thanks to an old back injury flaring up this week).

How many other BTr's are headed out to Walla Walla next weekend?

Does anyone know the water temp at Lake Bennington?  Is it as cold as last year?

I jumped in a couple of weeks ago temp low 50s hoping for warm weather to heat it up a little

I'll be there too.  I posted a question on their Facebook page about the current water temp; haven't heard back yet.  Either way, I'm stoked.  I'll be representing Team Red White and Blue in my TeamRWB kit.  See you all there.

I am doing the race and have been swimming in the Lake for the past 3 weeks.  The water is actually pretty warm.  It was about 62 degrees a couple weeks ago.

gslye and I just did a short swim in the lake yesterday. It was comfortable with a wetsuit... no frozen face or hands like when we swam there a few weeks ago. Looking forward to the race tomorrow! Have a great race everyone!

Did anyone else think that the swim course was short? I thought the times looked a little fast, my own included.

I agree, there is no way I swim that fast, I looked at my other years swims and it seems a little short.  However I learned at the Apple Capital Tri (In the Columbia)& at the Louisville IM a couple of years ago that sometime the currents can seem to help you more than you suspect.

My best 1500 meter OWS last year was right around 28 minutes and this year I knew I was a bit faster but I did it in 21! I wish I could have done 1500 meters that fast, but I find it a little hard to believe.

yes that was a short swim. I think I should have been around 21 or 22 and swam 16:40. I'm guessing it was 300 yds short.
