Pre-race routine:

checked the window and saw rain. opted on the conservative costume (no cotton). ate 1/2 cliff bar, drank 1/2 cup of coffee, chugged a cup of water and walked to the race.

knees ached. didn't try contacting the ground with the ball of my feet. I thought it would be too much for a long run. little aches but physically felt great. I could have kept going even longer.
What would you do differently?:

run with friends, better costume

walked, stretched, drank water, waited for Tim and Larry to pick me up.

laughing at all the costumes
