Subject: Tri Top/Bottoms for a Big Guy

Hey guys,

I am fairly large guy and am doing my first tri in 2 months.  I need to get me some tri bottoms and maybe a top.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Tyler

I was browsing scudopro.com and they carry up to 4XL. I believe they are also a forum sponsor and there is a Promo Code floating around one of their ads for 5% off.

I am sure there are other options but this is the one I have been looking through.

Thank you! I found this site a while ago and then didn't bookmark it. I have been googling any combination of fat, big, tall and triathlon for weeks with zero luck. Wow, am I an idiot...Thanks!

Try DeSoto for some really good stuff. I do not know how big you are, but I have an XXL Tri Top of theirs and it is awesome. Emilio posts on here some times and is super helpful. Anyone at the company I should say is super helpful and responds quickly. Quality stuff, but remember you get what you pay for. I have not tried their shorts yet.

DO NOT go with Le Garneu.  Man do they run small.  It must be a European thing.  I ordered from OneTri.com, one of the sponsors, and through no fault of theirs got something I can't use, a LG top that looks like a half-shirt.  My belly is exposed about 3-4 inches.  Stay away from them at this point.

I have a size 42" waist and fit great in my 2XU 2XL's.  I bought the top and bottom separate.  The drawstring helps keep the bottom covering everything.  The top is long enough to tuck in.  It stayed tucked in through my mini-sprint, so I didn't have to keep tucking it back in during the race.  Plus, it's compressive and squeezes my belly and chest in to help provide a little shape.   ;-)

Aerotech is awesome that is where I get most of my cycling and tri gear that doesn't have my club logo.  Their sizes are what we are used to.  I am waiting on their shipment to come in to get a new one piece tri suit this year decided I want blue instead of black.

I actually race in cycling bib shorts.. DHB brand (wiggle) with a sleeveless tri top.. this is comfy as all hell. Shorts and big guys don't mix.. they roll down and you are constantly hitching them up (am I right guys ?) The bib shorts have a small chomois.. so you never feel like you have a nappy on or anything..

pic of me in said gear.. 300lb of lumbering clyde.
