Fuelbelt.  I don't "love" the feeling of running with that much weight on my waist, but I have to have fluid in the heat and it's the best solutions I've found.

Amphipod with 4 bottles and I run a 6-10 mile loop, stopping once to refuel.

I would use a fuel belt if someone wants to buy me one for a gift *hint, hint*.

BUT, I'm pretty content with using a bike bottle, and planning my route with a gas station or 7-11 about 45 minutes apart, then refill with a fountain drink (gatorade or powerade).  I'm happy enough with that, that getting a 50-60 dollar fuel belt just isn't worth it for the minor additional convenience.

I actually would think that using the bottle is a bit easier to get access.  Don't have to mess around with snapping/unsnappig, or getting hip bottles in/out of a belt (however they are attached).

Plus it's an additional bicep workout?  Just switch hands every so often!

$50-60? Huh? Have you tried something like this? I'm sure there are other similar things, possibly for less as well. REI stuff has worked well for me though.

In the hotter, summer months I run a 2 mile loop and just place a water botter.  Every 2 miles I take a hit of water and move on.  Not everyone can take the boredom of ENDLESS LOOPS, but for me it is fine. I have also found that the loop idea allows me to cut a run short if I feel a strain or injury creeping in, where I would otherwise simply push through it and finish my run - and most likely end up injured.  So for me the loop idea helps with my hydration AND it has helped me avoid injuries.  It works for me but probably too boring for most.  It must be my low IQ

I ran with a fuel belt for a while, but I can't keep it on. It falls off. I recently got a camelbak and it is hands down my best friend ever.

I used a Nathan hydration belt for the last couple of years but never really loved it. I just don't like how it sits on my hips.

Recently I bought a Nike carrier at TJ Maxx out of the bargain bin ($8 I think). It carries the water bottle of your choice at about a 45 degree angle in the small of your back. I like it way more than the Nathan. It bounces less and seems to ride more securely for me but I think this is just a personal thing. With that being said, does anyone want a Nathan belt for cheap?

Amphipod worked much better for me than the Nathan. I use two large bottlles (12oz each) and a gel flask for races over 3 hrs. The pouch in the front is good to hold a key and iPod during training. Also a great place to hold salt caps during hot races as it is much more water resistant than the Nathan. I'm used to the Amphipod and use it in races regularly - don't care how it looks.

Amphipod hand held.  My regular route takes me through a park with access to many water fountains. During the winter they shut them off to keep from freezing so when I was training for the Austin marathon I had my husband leave water in a pre-arranged spot.
