Cool.  Wasn't planning to do it again, but now those of us who got to finish it will live in posterity, sort of.

Thats great.  I've wanted to participate there but cycling and running on that course for that distance has been outside the realm of what I'm willing to suffer through.  A 70.3 there would definately be on my list for next year.

I'm bummed.  That was on my list.  Guess the 70.3 will be fun, too, though.

Too bad. I was really hoping to do this one next year.

I did it in 2010 and wanted to go back in a few years. Now I have to go back next year to do it the first year as a 70.3.

I think the course was too tough for most and they got too many complaints. Seemed like most of the pros also avoided it. It wouldn't sell out in a few days, so they changed it. I guess you can't have a Ironman being too hard...

I don't see it doing much better as a 1/2.  Take a look at the Branson 1/2.  One of the hardest/hilliest half's and it's numbers went from 1400 the first year to 600 last year.  I'm assuming because all the times were so slow.  The roads are the best i've ridden on and they completly shut down the highway for the race.  Anyway thats my $0.02

I looked at the bike route map when checking in for IMSG today. Going up Snow Canyon is going to be a monster!

And they're back to the original run route for IMSG.

That could make this the hardest 70.3 on the circuit... which makes it somewhat more worthwhile. I was very disappointed at first, after seeing the route though, looks good!
