I use the Thule hitch rack. Just like the following one but for only 2 bikes http://www.amazon.com/Thule-914XT-Roadway-Hitch-Carrier/dp/B000MRH4VO . It uses an extra strap on the downtube which it calls anti-sway, stopping it from moving around. I have a cervelo P3 and just use a small hand towel wrapped around my bike before i strap it in. Going into my second year of use and no problems so far. Easy to use and with a few cheap towels no rubbing or paint issues.

I bought one of the 4 bike hitch mounts off ebay for like $50 last year.  Good rack overall but the pads for the bikes moved and after a while the bikes would be touching and rubbing  This year I turned it into a "FrankenRack".  I drilled 1/8th" holes and used set screws to hold the pads in place and fabricated a piece of PVC attached to the bottom of the rack that angle up towards where a second bike would go.  I tie the pedal to it and it won't move.  Also, I'm trying some of that foam padding used to wrap pipes under the bike frame on the pads to help keep paint from rubbing, etc.

Hi Dave 2.0...How do you like the  Thule Sport Rack EZ?  Did you get the premium one?  I'm looking into the same rack and I just wanted to know what's your opinion.

This has worked the best for me.  Other racks have not worked for me with odd frame geometry tri bikes.  This is super easy to transport tri bikes, mountain bikes, or even a baby jogger.

I've been using this rack system for years with carbon bikes with no problems.  Yakima BigHorn.  I do wrap a towel around the bike frame at the contact points before putting the straps on, just in case.

I have a new top shelf Thule 5 bike rack style carrier. Can't wait to switch to a platform.
