Total Time = 45m 31s
Overall Rank = 1904/43341
Age Group = M40 - 44
Age Group Rank = 190/2036
Pre-race routine:

Just sort of showed up after dialing in a little good morning Red Bull.
Event warmup:

Walked about a mile to the start.
Run
  • 45m 31s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Started with "B" wave, and really just sort of kept the pace with everyone. Finished with gas left in the tank, although I didn't have much interest in the free beer they were passing out....
What would you do differently?:

My training for this event was entirely random; a little bit of planning would have probably helped here.
Post race
Warm down:

Went up to the Coors box and enjoyed watching other racers finished. It's now 3.5 hours since I started the race, and folks are still finishing. I was told that I finished first in our YPO Chapter on the way out the door, only to get a call driving home reporting that Bob Deibel finished in 44:05! So, taking it like a training run ended up leaving me with a "team" second and enough energy to spend the rest of the day in the office....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience with course, and starting at the back of the "B" wave. Probably should have started at the front (with Bob Deibel) in order to pick up a faster pace.

Event comments:

The BolderBoulder is a really remarkable event, and I'll have to make this an annual start to the season.

This is an estimated time based on Garmin. The device told me that I was running 7:11's, which was fine, and at the finish said that I had run 6.31 miles, so maybe I got lost or something. Average HR: 172, so I wasn't exactly dogging it. Time unofficial (based on Garmin).

Nice job on the run.  3.5 hours later and people are still running... unbelievable.  It's hard to imagine that many people on a 10k course.  Congratulations.
