Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4 AM. Had coffee and bowl of oatmeal with honey and blueberries. Left at 4:45 AM. Arrived at race site at 5:45 AM. Got body marked and set up in transition. Looked at course. Sat in car and read a while. Talked to other women.
Event warmup:

Jogged a few short steps. Did some windmills with arms. Waited for wave to start.

Didn't swim all week and it showed. Wasn't smooth, didn't have good roll. Couldn't wait to get done so I could get on the bike.

Swim more.

Time and practice.

Event comments:

This is the best sprint race I have ever done. I had very mixed emotions about doing an all women event. I was wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will do it again if it fits into my schedule.

Volunteers were the best!
