Comments:

felt great at beginning. then got HOT very fast. not enough water stations. felt very dehydrated at the end. there were 2 water stops for the entire 10K course. needed way more on a sunny/hot day like today!

so disappointed in my performance today b/c i ran this race 3 minutes faster last year!
What would you do differently?:

run with a water bottle!!
Post race
Warm down:

walked a little then took off

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not nearly enough water on the 10K course.

Event comments:

really disappointed in the lack of organization on the 10K course. most of the runners choose the 5K and there was plenty of water for them. there was not nearly enough water for the 10K course. i was DYING!! had to walk 2x b/c was struggling so much in the heat. :P

You had two things going against you... heat and lack of water!  Both of which could easily add 3 minutes to your time, so don't beat yourself up!  I never run as fast in the summer as I do in the winter, the heat and humidity just plain suck!  You did it and that is not a shabby time in spite of all that!!  Do another in the fall or winter and you'll PR it for sure!!!

x2 on what Hilde says.  2 water stops for a 10K is not enough.  The heat --- well it's better to walk and cool down a bit then up with heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
