Today I swam a 1 x 5km (lcm) in about 1:40:xx - my longest continuous swim to date. I started refelcting back on other PR's and realized I feel better about my distance PR's than I do about my speed PR's. For example, I dig todays 5k more than I dig a recent 2k @ 37:xx (my fastest at that distance). I feel the same about runs as well.

How about you BTers? Do you like to go farther than you've ever gone or faster than you've ever gone?

Faster.

I honestly don't want to go much farther than I've already gone.

You know, once I get the complete Iron distance under my belt, I see myself feeling this way as well. I didnt stop at 4k, but I've always kinda wanted to do some absurdly long swim. I remember, as a kid, thinking I wanted to swim the English Channel some day.

Speed. What Jason said and (speaking very generally) speed seems to take a bit more to figure out.

Yeah, I guess speed.  When I 1st started running I just wanted to complete that marathon, but then after I did that I'm all about trying to set new prs in the 5k.  Which sadly I have not been able to do since I did the marathon.
