Subject: Garmin Cadence or Sigma Bike Computer w/ Cadence

I'm having trouble deciding which one to get - or do I get both? I always wear my garmin (& HRM) while riding or running, but I just started biking and am wanting to get a more accurate read on my speed, time, cadence, etc.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 so I could buy the cadence sensor for it or I could buy a bike computer (like a Sigma 1609) for the information as well. Confused on how to go about deciding which one I should or shouldn't get.

Or should I get both?

HELP!

Easy choice. The Garmin one.  $35 on amazon is a no-brainer.  You can also use the garmin one with something like trainerRoad.

And no, you don't need both.  If you need a backup bike computer, get a Bontager Node or something that also used an ANT cadence sensor.

Garmin.

I'm not sure what the question is, why wouldn't you get the garmin cadence sender? Then all your workouts can get uploaded here and to the garmin connect so you have them all in one place.

In this case, Garmin.  I do own the Sigma wireless comp with cadence, though, and have been happy with it.

I liked the idea of having a bigger display I guess - and the description of what I read on the Sigma seemed like it did more than that of the description of the Garmin. I was leaning Garmin, but after all the reading it got a little confusing...

GARMIN IT IS!

Thanks.
