Total Time = 2h 34m 53s
Overall Rank = 67/219
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 7/19
Pre-race routine:

Oatmeal and a banana at 4:30am
Event warmup:

Not a lot, treading water for a bit. Probably need to work on this.
Swim
  • 36m 27s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 13s / 100 yards
Comments:

I knew I would suck at swimming. Learned how to swim 6 months ago. To be honest, maybe the swim was a bit short, I don't think I'm even a 2:26 swimmer
What would you do differently?:

Not a lot, I stayed out of the way and flipped over on my back when necessary.
Transition 1
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

Never done a transition before, was concentrating on just not forgetting anything. I wear socks, and don't have tri specific bike shoes, so I knew it wasn't going to be fast.
What would you do differently?:

Worst part was being gassed from the swimming, if I improve my swimming it would help T1 and the bike.
Bike
  • 1h 11m 16s
  • 24 miles
  • 20.21 mile/hr
Comments:

I hit my goal of 20mph without too much trouble, I don't have a HR monitor but I knew it was low enough.

Drank 20 oz of poweraid in the insulated bottle and about 28 oz of water in the areo bottle.
What would you do differently?:

Probably shouldn't have eaten the 2nd gell at mile 18. But that was the plan and I stuck with it. I eat a ton on training rides on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

Just concentrated on not doing anything dumb. This went pretty well, not a lot to do in T2.
What would you do differently?:

Would be faster with tri shoes.
Run
  • 44m 3s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a stomach issue when I first started, probably didn't need that last gell, it went away though. Legs were cramping as well after 3 miles, I think more from lack of training than a serious lack of fluids problem, I was drinking consistently.
What would you do differently?:

I need to bike more to improve my running.
Post race
Warm down:

Bag of ice on my head

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more bricks. Without a HR monitor I'm pretty sure I nailed the bike and definitely had nothing left at the end of the run.

Event comments:

There was post race pizza and fruit. I miss back before the recession when post race was better. I have a sweet tooth and was hoping for cookies or something.
