Comments:

I felt great on this swim. I started off in the front/middle. I was first overall in my wave for the first 200 yards and didn't have to deal with any crazy arms and feet. Turned the buoy and ran into some swimmers from the wave in front of me and some from behind. I was really surprised with how good I felt. I haven't done very much swim training at all and didn't feel out of breath or nervous. Navigation was surprisingly good!
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Transition 1
  • 02m 24s
Comments:

Transition was good. I just can't get my wetsuit off very easily. But I guess I can't complain. First time I've worn it this year.
What would you do differently?:

Practice getting out of my wetsuit more.

Comments:

I haven't done near enough outdoor biking this year. That being said...I was way slower than I thought I would be. Not sure what is going on. First part of this race (the mostly downhill) was great. The second half (the hills) not so much. I think the low training amount hurt, but I think my brain got in the way.
What would you do differently?:

More outdoor riding.
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
Comments:

Transition was good.
Run
  • 35m 17s
  • 3.3 miles
  • 10m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

This was hard. First off I really had to go to the bathroom so this time includes an approx. 30 sec. potty break. I just wasn't willing to run uncomfortable the entire time. This course is hilly and trails. Neither of which I train for. Slower than last year but about 20 degrees warmer. I will kick its ass next year.
What would you do differently?:

Be more confident. DO NOT LIFT THE WEEK BEFORE A RACE!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Ate a bit and waiting for awards. Took first in age group because the woman in front of me took first overall. I'll take it.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lifting the week of the race. It really sunk me. My legs weren't sore on race day but just felt like lead. Lesson learned.
