So there's a nice little BT group signed up for LITH . . . I've never done this one before.  Any thoughts/suggestions from anyone familiar with the race?

I was just going to start this exact same thread.  This will be my third year doing the LITH tri.  Very well run race.  The only thing that throws some people is the need to set up 2 transition areas.  It's pretty simple; you ride to T2, get marked, drop your run gear and ride over to the lake.  Set up T1 there.  They provide a bag to deposit your wetsuit, goggles, etc., and it will magically be waiting for pick-up in T2 after the race.

The swim is a rectangle counterclockwise.  Coming out of T1, there is a little hill so make sure you are in an easy gear to get clipped in.  The bike course has a few rolling hilss but for the most part, flat.  The run is uphill from about mile 2 to 2.5 then you come back down.

I posted a race report form last year and there are several others.

Great feedback.  Thanks!  I'll be the one wearing #107 in wave 4 who looks like he's trying to remember where he las saw his shoes.

I haven't run it yet, but have been there watching the last 3 years as friends were racing. Race homepage, that's me on the dock in the picture.

It's a nice, local race. Swim is simple enough. It looks bigger because it takes up the whole open area. There is the hill right away out of transition. I'm going to put shoes on in T1 and friends have done that too. Only put them on the bike if you can pedal uphill standing on the shoes. Otherwise there is no time to do it. Rest of the course sounds fairly simple. Starts out tight, but opens up to some wide open road space soon enough. It's a sprint and doesn't have any feature areas they highlight. Know that the run is 4 miles instead of the usual 5k. There is the hill, but it's not overly hard. The rest of it is fairly flattish. You will be running on a paved multi-use path for sections.

Good to see some fellow BTers in this race.  Third year for me.  I'm in wave 2 #34.  Looking forward to getting the tri season started.  Should be a nice day albeit a little on the warm side.

Wave 5. Was hoping for an early one. Going to check out the bike course more tomorrow. Hoping Miller continues to have lots of room. I know that first bit is tight, but it opens up after crossing the main road.

Anyone else been going to the practice swims? Water temp has been nice. Just right for wetsuits and I think people without them would be fine as well.

Been to the practice the last 2 weeks.  I always try to make these throughout the summer.  They go until August.

Yes, the water has been great.  Fairly clean with the lack of rain and cool enough that I did not overheat in my wetsuit.  Did 2 laps both weeks.  Ready to race!

Wave 2, #38.  Glad to see us middle-aged guys get to go early.

Fun morning. Swim felt alright, but not sure on time. ~37 min on the bike, so happy with that. 27 min run, could use some work though. Beat 1:20 for overall time. AG 1st.

Every time I start the run in a sprint, I always wonder WTF I was thinking that this would be fun.

That's a phenominal result.  Congrats!!  I was hoping to get into the 1:20's, but didn't quite make it.  I pushed a little too hard on the bike and wound up starting the run feeling like I was just trying to hang on rather then feeling strong.  I though it was  great local race though.
