Swim
Comments: Bodies everywhere... Not usually a problem for me, but seemed to take quite awhile to get any kind of breathing room. Had several people just claw their way into me and try to keep going, as opposed to finding another way around. I don't know about you, but for me, if I run into someone, I adjust my course, not keep plowing through them. It's not going to help either of us if we swim on top of each other. Transition 1
Comments: A little slow, but I've not been focusing on transitions at all so far this year, my focus being a Half in September. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike. Obviously would have liked to go faster, but I did hold a fairly consistent effort the entire time, which was slightly above comfortable. Legs took a little while to loosen up. Transition 2
Comments: Seemed real slow in T2. Took my time with the socks and shoes. Didn't prep the socks ahead of time and paid for it. Run
Comments: Just happy to be able to keep a comfortable pace for 6.2 miles without having to walk. I did have to make a 3.5 minute pit stop at the 1.5 mile marker thanks to stomach issues. Thankfully the port-o-john came open right as I came up to it. After that I felt much better the remainder of the run. Post race
Warm down: Changed clothes, played with the dog, drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Fitness. Last updated: 2012-01-28 12:00 AM
