1st Ultra Surf the Murph, MN Oct 2012

Wow! when I first signed up at BT there was only a couple of hundred members. Now look! There's an Ultra forum. I joined BT 7 or so years ago, did sprint tri's and worked up to a HIM before realising my swimming would not help get me to the finish of an IM. So I ran marathons instead. Seventeen marathons later I've decided I want to do an Ultra. Surf the Murph in Savage, MN gets the nod because its relatively close to home and I've read a lot of positive race reports. I'm entered and fired up. I have 2 marathons between now and then. Grandmas' in Duluth, MN ans Whistlestop in Ashland, WI which will be a slow training run. Thats a tough concept to get one's head around. A marathon as a training run.
