Pre-race routine:

rested up, took a nap after the AM OLY... about a half hour or so. ate ate ate and stretched.
Event warmup:

got to transition and realized I had 45 minutes or so after the first bikers went to start since it was a time trial start. Sat cookin in the sun for 47 minutes
Swim
  • 45m 26s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

tough swim for me... cramped up bad at the end, literally 10 feet from the exit. Stood waist deep in the water and my left leg locked up. All I could do was stand there and hold it. Tried to massage it out but just stood tall to stretch it out. Felt like forever. Could have been 5 minutes could have been 10. All I remember is the others coming out of the water asking if I was ok. The volunteers and spectators could just stand and watch. I just remember saying to myself,"Walk... walk... you may fall but you have to walk."
What would you do differently?:

nothing could be done really. 2nd race of the day
Transition 1
  • 06m 30s
Comments:

This segment the race was reversed. was BIKE SWIM RUN format. In T1 we had to get suit on after bike. I was pretty beat up after the AM race and had about 2.5 hours to recoup for race 3. Then I had to wait in the sun for 45 min to get off on the bike since it was a TT start.. 2 bikers at a time.
What would you do differently?:

now that I know that others would move up in line to get off sooner I maybe would do that in the future but I wasn't up front because my seed was in the back so I stayed there.

Comments:

hard course, hilly... good thing I brought the 32 with me.
Transition 2
  • 05m 15s
Comments:

took a while to get the suit on after the bike portion. wegmans plastic bags to help getting suit on... body glide was completely melted and flew all over the place when I opened the stick
Run
  • 1h 23m 56s

Comments:

long day and it took it's toll here on the run.
